![]() I know I didn't short anything with the soldering. ![]() The 0 volt readings have me worrying that I may have really screwed something up with all my playing around, but I just can't figure out what I could have done. I tested this with a voltmeter - positive lead into the harness, negative grounded out to the roof. I also tested all the wires which plug into the two harnesses in the map lamp unit (overhead console), and found 0 voltage coming out of any of them. As mentioned before, all fuses in the engine compartment and cabin are okay - I pulled literally every single on that is related to any of the non-functioning components. Still no lights on, no radio, no illumination, and no multifunction display. I soldered everything as best as I could, put the unit back in, and. Also, the larger block-looking resistor labeled D1 (which I assume is diode?) also has no resistance or continuity, but it doesn't actually appear to be connected to anything on the PCB so I'm puzzled as to its function.Īnyway, the local electronics supply shop didn't have any 330 ohm resistors in stock, so I replaced it (as a temporary fix) with one of the spare 551s I bought, just to see if anything would happen. The only issue was one 331, which had no continuity because one of its leads came off during soldering and I lost it. ![]() Checked resistors and most tested out okay ('000' jumpers read 0 ohms, 2 of 3 '331's around 330 ohms, and the '511' around 510 ohms. ![]()
